Ok so think critically here for a minute. I've done this before but I'll try one more time. So hypothetically a new Hitler rises in Europe and well he does the very things Hitler did. Ahhh I'll invade Poland first then I'll take France because the rest of the world will stand by and do nothing. Then I'll start whacking Jews and Christians and Oh yes Jehovah ...[text shortened]... tupid things but freedom is not cheap and can't be bought with pacifist ideas

DO NOT KILL!!!!

They will only change their beliefs, if the Watchtower tells them that they have a new revelation and things have changed. They don't change belief on logic.

noun
1. a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, especially a person whose actions belie stated beliefs.
Am I right? Have you or would you kill for your government? Where is your allegiance?
Originally posted by stellspalfieOk, I'm not going to waste my time answering more, and more, and more hypothetical situations. I've answered clearly what God has said. "DO NOT KILL". If one here needs to learn more and still does not understand those 3 words, then pray to Jehovah for help in understanding this.
thats not what you said.
Originally posted by galveston75you said in an earlier post an intruder could be struck and killed at night and the killer would be exonerated. that doesnt tie in with the flat rule of 'do not kill'. can you see why i get so confused.

What? Where did I say that?
"What if a person’s life is threatened by an assailant?
A law that God gave to ancient Israel sheds light on this. If a thief was caught in the daytime and was killed, the assailant would be charged with murder. This was evidently because thievery did not carry the death penalty and the thief could have been identified and brought to justice. However, if an intruder was fatally struck at night, the householder could be exonerated because it would be difficult for him to see what the intruder was doing and to ascertain the intentions of the intruder. The householder could reasonably conclude that his family was under threat of harm and take defensive action.—Exodus 22:2, 3.
The Bible thus indicates that a person may defend himself or his family if physically assaulted. He may ward off blows, restrain the attacker, or even strike a blow to stun or incapacitate him. The intention would be to neutralize the aggression or stop the attack. This being the case, if the aggressor was seriously harmed or killed in such a situation, his death would be accidental and not deliberate.
Awake 06/08
Again, anyone that takes a life will have to answer to God. God knows the situation and if it were truly an accident or if it was not ententional, then Jehovah knows that and he will judge accordingly. If there was hatred or ill will in ones mind and heart when this death of another was committed, Jehovah will judge accordingly."
you also suggest on page 10 that god can forgive you, as he will look into your heart and judge if you had to do it or not. this implies some forms of killing are acceptable.
Originally posted by stellspalfieSo you are still not getting the point. The first and formost rule by God is do not kill. If you do it would be as a last resort if all other options have been thought out and if your life was in complete danger

But the Bible itself answers this as was quoted in this posting you are referring to. I thought you were saying I personally said this as I knew I hadn't. But yes I agree with the statement by the Awake magazine....

you can not have a 'formost' rule and then contradict it later it renders the first rule meaningless. it gives a slapdash, ad-hoc feel about the construction of the laws, as if god couldnt be bothered to spend the time to write them in manner which didnt conflict and provided the followers with some consistency. you cannot say 'you shall not kill' if their are circumstances in which killing is justified.....bonkers.
actually on reflection i take it back, its how an adult talks to a child when they think things are too difficult to explain in full to children -
no hitting,
run away and tell a teacher
if you cant run away then its okay to defend yourself,
i guess this all falls in line with the christian need to have the world reduced to a simplistic moral guide outlined in the bible.

Yep and yep.
So you are now an expert on what is hypocritical? Don't go there buddy as you have your share of it by many things you've said.
It's the same as blood transfusions vs abstaining from eating blood.
