No but I've thought about saying it.

The last self identified atheist that I called upon was painting her house, I was also doing some DIY at home at the time and I said that I had some sympathy with her. She thought that I was saying that I felt sorry for her being an atheist. 😵

You knock on someone's door uninvited and that someone tells you "I'm not interested" and you think about trying to ask them to tell you about themselves anyway? Seems a bit odd, surely?.

That would be a good reply. The only problem is that if they said "OK, lets talk about [some scientific topic]" you would make and excuse and leave in a hurry.

My own experience with evangelists is that they are only interested in pushing their own point of view and never want a real discussion.

But given your flat refusal to read anything science related that you think might contradict your beliefs, I suspect a conversation that went in that direction would also fall on deaf ears - just as most conversations on this forum with you clearly do.
