Week 26 Honesty

Honesty is essential in building strong personal relationships. We must be able to trust each other as Christians. Our credibility is especially important in our witness to nonbelievers. Scripture encourages us to back up our witness with honest behavior.

1. Circle key words and phrases in the following Scriptures.

Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.
2 CORINTHIANS 4:2

Do not lie to each other, since you have taken off your old self with its
practices.
COLOSSIANS 3:9

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody.
ROMANS 12:17

* For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of men.
2 CORINTHIANS 8:21

The LORD abhors dishonest scales, but accurate weights are his delight. . . . The integrity of the upright guides them, but the unfaithful are destroyed by their duplicity.
PROVERBS 11:1, 3

An evil man is trapped by his sinful talk, but a righteous man escapes
trouble. . . . A truthful witness gives honest testimony, but a false witness tells lies.
PROVERBS 12:13, 17

2. What do we learn about honesty in (answer briefly):

2 Corinthians 4:2 2
Corinthians 8:21

Proverbs 12:13, 17

Be honest now, no1, have you really been deceived for 26 weeks into thinking that RBHILL himself prepared these studies? I'm pretty sure he gave a citation for the whole series in the first one.

You actually think I've read this rubbish for 26 weeks????? Every time I quote from a source, I cite it; it's insufficient for me to cite MSN once every 26 weeks if I'm going to use different articles.

30? You mean there are only four more??

Why do I feel like I have to shell out as though it were a limited edition Macallan?

EDIT: But seriously - has it been six months already?

"You are either for us or against us". It's there in the Bible somewhere ...

Or am I thinking of Dubya? 🙄

EDIT: Found it. Mk 9:40 - "For he who is not against us is for us".

Everyone would go to hell if it was not for Jesus. Romans 5:8 and John 3:36.

You said you think. As a Christian you can KNOW where you will Go after you die.

Paul know he was going to heaven and go read what 1 John 5:13 says.
