What do you mean by resurrection of the body? Is it a new physical body?

If Jesus still had the holes in his hands, why wouldn't the amputee still be missing a limb?

It is, after all, a small price for eternal life.

In the way you understand it, you do not believe in the resurrection of the body, or do you ?

I am a man of doubt who at times as given up hope, but lives in faith.

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. - Heb 11:1.

Any philosophy will begin with certain premises. Buddhism offers premises of its own (karma, rebirth) that, IMO, are no less fantastic than the ones Christianity offers.
That's probably because you interpret them from a certain perspective. You've never shown much aptitude for understanding Zen thinking. Why are karma & rebirth fantastic to you? There are common sense explanations for both (as well as fantastic ones to be sure).

Yea, but, what if all you have is a head and torso... Would you like that to be eternal?..

1 and 2. For the Christian, this world and life is not just about suffering.
Nor is this life just about suffering to buddhists.

Dukkha is the Pali word wrongly translated as "suffering." It is more closely related to the word dis-ease or unsatisfactoriness.

Buddhists I know are quite well-adjusted, loving, caring people. They are certainly not of the mind that life is only suffering.

Also (to address another point I saw somewhere in the thread), in Mahayana practice, Bodhisattvas are persons who aspire to attain complete enlightenment for the benefit of all beings, without exception. Hardly individuals of self-interest, I'd say.

... especially if the head and the torso are not connected to each other.

Here's a thought... Say I'm a woman, and the parts are aligned properly... yea, I think I could spend an eternity with that view... :

Hm, doesn't sound very appealing to me. I guess you would have to be a homosexual woman to enjoy it. But in that case you would go to hell, and I don't think they provide proper alignment there.

ha ha ha 😀 😵

Yea, well, if I were a woman I'd definitely be homosexual, and I'd just tell Lucifer that I'm straight and he'd "torture" me by alignment.
