Could somebody please perform a Simon Says analysis on this announcement.

Is this real Catholic teaching, or the fake kind where they get all of the benefit of teaching it but take none of the responsibility?

It's hard to say without reading the actual article rather than an article about the article. If all he's saying is that evolution couldn't have been random because it was overseen by God, then I see no conflict with what the RCC has been saying for years and no reason for the Discovery Institute to do hand stands. I was taught the TOE as scientific "fact" in my 6th Grade Biology class at St. Patrick's a long time ago.

I heard an audio of it. He basically says that evolution cannot occur, that there are seriousgaps in the theory and the plausible theory is intelligent design. I don't think many Catholics agree with that.
