There is no doubt that you can craft a post, but don't you ...[text shortened]... ur self-praise of intellect is a little too much to swallow. Come back down to earth.
The difference is that if someone tells me they had trouble understanding a post I have written
I go back and try to make myself clearer.

GB just reposts exactly the same thing or tells people to go back and read it again.

I was not, and am not, boasting about being smart, (and IQ doesn't always map to smart, and
unfortunately doesn't necessarily map to being right either.) I was simply trying to point out to GB
that I am not an idiot, and still have no clue what he is on about most of the time.

IQ specifically measures the ability to comprehend abstract ideas and communicate.
So while it doesn't make me brilliant at anything else, An above average IQ means that I have specifically
scored well at understanding even quite cryptic messages and puzzles.

    Which is why it's relevant.

Either GB is being so cryptic that on average less than 1:2000 people out of the general population would be
    able to decipher his meaning...
Or his posts are poorly constructed and don't actually contain the information he is trying to convey.

This was my response to him acting like everyone else was just being dumb and not trying hard enough
    to understand his posts.

And I am sorry but I am not dumb... And neither are many/most of the other people here who I have observed
    having the same difficulty.

And yes, it's depressing that there are millions of people out there smarter than me (many massively so).
I believe that you should always strive to be better and improve yourself.

Never settle for second, aim for first... I am something like ~3.2millionth... That should be (mildly) depressing.

I don't boast about my IQ, partly because it doesn't mean a whole lot in the real world, partly because I have met
plenty of smarter people and know how much smarter many of them are, and partly because I really haven't done enough
with it to date, and what matters is not what you could have done but what you actually do. (GW Bush had an IQ high enough
to get into Mensa (130+) and yet acted like a complete idiot because he didn't apply his mind to the real world rather than IQ tests)

It would be like boasting about being really tall... Great if you use your hight to be a major league basketball player...
but otherwise it is just a meaningless number.
But it does mean that if you are having as GB says a "casual conversation", that if I can't understand you then you are either
pitching your posts WAY to high, or are not actually being comprehensible.

Also before you accuse me of arrogance I would ask you to go back and see anywhere where I have suggested that
I am smarter than GB. You will find that I actually explicitly acknowledge the possibility that he's smarter than me.
And that I cant understand his posts because they are too smart for me.

My point was exactly that the whole point of communication is that both/all parties can understand it.

So if someone tells you that you were unclear or that they didn't understand you then YOU need to go back and try
again to express your point in a way that is comprehensible to the person you are talking to.

I do that, as do many others on this site.

    GB doesn't.

With his daughter having an IQ beyond 170
(testing unable to quantify further), it's strange
gb's is only slightly above room temperature.

Quite a dilemma you have there gb...do you

    a) keep the heating down and risk hypothermia? or
    b) turn up the thermostat and check again? 😲

    Tough call!

We must set aside time between posts to discuss extreme options further.

But when the tiger pounces does it take the time to count its neighbour's stripes?
Indeed how many blades of grass must it trample first?

    When a man wants to murder a tiger he calls it sport;
when a tiger wants to murder him he calls it ferocity.

Tigers only imitate people. People imitate each other.
There may be exceptions in the human realm, such
as a tigress with birdy feet in the back; or a big bad
male bent on cutting his own path. Which are you?

Towers often contain towels, but when the towel contains the tower, what does this say about the weaver?

Exactly where in the world will you be charged with murder for killing a tiger or
    any other animal?
