Just a question but would God let this happen to his church?
Interesting question since if God did NOT let it happen, then how did it happen?
Paradoxically, if it is the case that
"Catholic schools are often seen as a safer and more enriching alternative to failing public schools." yet
"Nationwide, Catholic schools have lost more than 587,000 students since 2000, according to the National Catholic Education Association" we must assume that people no longer want a safer and more enriching alternative or, alternatively, that they now feel safer and more enriched in failing public schools or alternatively again, that this claim was always a self serving delusion. It's always a mistake to start believing your own marketing blah. I wonder which if any applies?
I wonder too if there is any connection with the emerging stories of rampant paedophilia among Catholic clergy in so many countries?
Finally is it because fewer parents now comply with Catholic teaching on contraception?
Such interesting room for speculation.
