There’s no need, it’s your doctrines based on fakes interpretation which is the problem.
We may disagree on some doctrinal matter. But surely you agree that Jesus is in the Bible Lord. This is very important.
Don't you love the Lord Jesus Christ?
Don't you want to let Him be Lord of your life?
Have you come up to the threshold of the faith only to shrink at receiving Jesus as your Lord ??
Your propensity to focus on particular words or numbers isn't healthy. If God exists, do you really think He cares about any of that?
You don't understand I think. The foundation of the Gospel is that Jesus is alive and Jesus is available.
That is the starting point. No other foundation can anyone lay then that which has been laid. Our faith does not rest on the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
One MUST start and see that He is risen, He is risen indeed.
I am told I am too focused on certain words. Once again, what did the apostolic teaching teach?
"That if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord and BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." (Rom. 9:9)
Of course why would anyone call on the Lord Jesus Christ unless he truly believed that He lives and can be called UPON.
"For with the heart there is believing unto RIGHTEOUSNESS, and with the mouth there is confession unto salvation." (v.10)
So call on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ believing that the Lord has been raised from the dead by God. And be saved. And be justified. And be set on the path of sanctification and conformation into His image.
What has me thinking Jesus is LORD got to do with my criticising your vanity and narcissism?
You may criticize me as much as you feel the need to.
But do make sure you have received the Lord Jesus.
"As many as RECEIVED Him . . . , to them He gave the authority to become children of God, . . . "
Now you may have some atheist friends change their attitude about you if you confess Lord Jesus. But that is ok. You're coming to the Lord may help them to make that step as well.
I am not the issue. The Lord Jesus is the main issue.
@divegeester
Oh come on Divegeester. If I answer, its my "vanity".
If I don't answer, its my "running away."
I'll tell you what. I'll leave this thread now.
I spoke what I thought was something positive. And you said my contribution was welcomed.
@philokalia saidI think a far bigger problem is church officials holding the teachings of Paul over the teachings of Jesus.
Anglicans which deny the words of St. Paul, which refer to homosexuality as a sin, and deny other such sexual sins, would be apostates. For they would be actively contradicting the words of a Saint.
People who deny the words of the New Testament like that have fallen from normal Christianity, and have decided to do away with the teachings of our church fathers to please the world.
@suzianne saidThat's a wild statement.
I think a far bigger problem is church officials holding the teachings of Paul over the teachings of Jesus.
St. Paul's mission was part of divine providence.
Do you think St. Paul was not guided in all the epistles he wrote by God?
Then why would God let him be the one to become so influential in Christianity?
God would die on earth but then let his Gospels be corrupted?
