This dude, RJ's buddy, was convicted of 58 felonies. And RJ looks up to him as an apologist, 'many people are political victims' or words to that effect.
One note, Hovind's so-called Phd had one committee member, an accredited university needs 4 or 5 and the one he had was also a convicted felon, child abuse.
So even Hind's Mentors' mentor was a felon.
Hovind has been in prison since 2007 on a ten year sentence and another contempt of court conviction this year.

You don't have to read much of these links to see Hovind as a true nutcase.
Any idea where I can find a list of those 58 felonies? I searched, but could only find sites that mention Hovind has 58, but not specifically what those are.

Apparently there were something like 45 shady financial deals and income tax evasions. He is in prison as we speak, due to get out later this year if his time isn't extended due to the contempt of court charge.
"Hovind established the Creation Science Evangelism ministry in 1989, and frequently spoke on Young Earth creationism at seminars at private schools and churches, debates, and on radio and television broadcasts. Since January 2007, Hovind has been serving a ten-year prison sentence after being convicted in federal court of 58 counts, including 12 tax offenses, one count of obstructing federal agents, and 45 counts of structuring cash transactions. In a separate federal court case in early 2015, Hovind was found guilty of contempt of court."

this is an old revision of Hovinds (sounds like Hinds ... hmm ...) wikipedia page which might shed some light on the issue:
So he claimed he was not a US citizen and therefore not required to pay taxes. You can see how well THAT went๐ They also found weapons at his house and a semiautomatic rifle. His wife Jo also went to prison for a year. She is out now. They also have phone records while he was incarcerated showing he and his son Eric conspired to hide other assets they owned.
Real nice spiritual sort of fella, eh.
The 'structured' cash transactions was 200 checks all just under $10,000 trying to hide the transactions from the government, 1.5 million all told.
Did you get the part where he paid $25 monthly fee for a few months to get his 'Phd'? No need for an 8 year program paid by the credit hour, just pony up 25 bucks a month for a few months and you too can have your Phd, no need to even attend classes. Wonder if they offer one in engineering๐

So you really ARE an apologist for this assshole. OMG. You actually donated money to him also, didn't you.
If he was an Atheist car salesman you would denounce him in a trice wouldn't you, since you have to know he has no morals.

No I did not donate any money to him. I don't know enough about his legal problems to make a decision. I am only interested in his ability as a science teacher to expose the lies of evolution.
Originally posted by sonhouse Well there you have it. He MUST be innocent now. That kid says so. How could I have been SO wrong.....
NOT.
So all 200 of those deposits had nothing to do with trying to deceive the government, just under 10,000 times 200. Sure, he is SO innocent.
Well, I don't know, but there does seem to be some people that believe he should be released because he is not guilty. But this does not make him wrong about the evolution lies in the textbooks. ๐

You seem to be unable to say the guy is a crook. Plain and simple crook, out for money and using religion as the means.
I guess Hitler would have been a good guy in your eyes if he said the Earth was only 6000 years old, spouting Genesis.
