C'mon RS, that's circular ...
You're relying on the Bible to give you the goods on Jesus or the Word or whatever.
Try again.
And when I say argument, I mean in the sense of a debate of ideas.
Not the diatribe that you usually spout ...
Here's and idea that is Biblically written.
The God of Heaven creates every drop of rain in the size that he desires and allows all of them to fall according to the vapor already evaporated. How can you explain the size of rain drops?
Originally posted by amannionYou know I believe that is a good question and may deserve a thread. But the first thing that we believe suggest preeminence was the fact that. Persian priest recognized his birthright and worshiped at his feet according to legend. These men were non-christian and followed a more ancient science or religion if you will. Secondly it was the revelation of the new relationship that all men, who are believers are priveleged to engage in with their God. Father and Son, as far as I can recollect this relational dynamic was totally unheard of in this time. Maybe the third thing that I will suggest is that the term and use of the word Son has a double connotation, and mostly serves as a euphemism regarding the power of the spoken word. Word and Son become synonymous. Because this was first he is recognized as the first born of many Sons that's an agument for preeminence
[b]For the hell of getting you to continue, which is pretty amusing, can you explain, without any circular arguments, why Jesus is so preeminent? What is it about him that puts him above numerous other religious prophets?

Is that what you're left to?
Basic physics will explain that ...
You have no opinions that are self-generated.
Hmmm.
So, you're a robot, an automaton then, is that is?
By circular, I meant the way you use the Bible as an explanation for everything. Why is this the case? The bible. Why does that happen? The bible.
At some point in your life, you've read the bible. Probably because you heard about it from someone else (a priest maybe?) who suggested that it contained (cue dramatic music) 'The TRUTH'. You may have grown up with it, or some to it later in your life. But you were told about it from some other person.
How do you make the decision that this book is true? How do you know it is true?
(And again, try to answer without referring back to god or jesus, because you're getting them from the book - and that's circular.)

Rain is simply the product of the condensation of water vapour. Temperature decrases at appox 1C per 150m in altitude gained. Water condenses, typically onto small particles of dust in the atmosphere, and falls as rain. Temperature, altitude, air quality, air pressure and wind speed all determine rain fall. God has nothing to do with it.

Persian priests? According to legend?
You can say anything according to legend.
According to legend humans never landed on the moon.
According to legend someone saw the likeness of Mary in a piece of pasta.
Any religion idolises their particular identities. Buddhism, Islam, Judaism, and so on. Christianity is no different.
Jesus was great. Maybe, if you're a christian.
Buddha was great if you're a buddhist.
Mohammad, moses ....

You are arguing that:
The Christian god is the true god
because
Jesus said so
and
Jesus must be right
because
He is the son of the Christian god
and
The Christian God is the true god
because
Jesus said so...

Even my dad who is Rastafarian might end up in Hell. The word of GOD is plain and simple. No one goes unto the father but by the son Jesus Christ. Not by Halie Selassie, Buddah, or Muhammad, Jesus Christ ...[text shortened]... no Jah, there is no Allah, and no Buddah. Why? Because those Gods were no found through Christ.
I think that's the god that Streisand tries to emulate. I keep hearing people say that she's "just like Buddah."
