I've always felt that the testimony of Christians like you and KellyJay is far more fascinating and persuasive when you talk about your experience of faith and the very real impact that your belief in Jesus has on your lives.

I also think it is the most compelling part of what I used to believe too. That is why, with my experiential knowledge, I believe I understand your faith and KellyJay's faith. It may not be proof but it is certainly "evidence" of something.

The hammering-away-at-ancient-scripture thing? Hmmm. Not so much. Not for me.

The Bible is God's inspired word. Spoken through the prophets in the Old Testament and through Jesus in the New Testament. It is prophecy and fulfillment of that prophecy in one volume.

-Your unsuccessful attempts at sowing division are duly noted.

You have no evidence to either of these claims

There is a substantial amount of evidence contained within the pages of scripture, for those who wish to read and learn.

And to be brutally frank, if my posting the op makes you feel that division is being sowed then maybe your faith isn’t that strong.

My feeing, regarding your OP is only one of a little sadness for the one who wrote it, since he's setting himself up to lose in the long run; and a far as my faith goes...."maybe" you have no clue about it. πŸ™‚

Do you know the definitions for dogma and doctrine? Divisions occur for a large number of reasons, truth divides because somethings are correct and others not. Jesus when walking as a man divided people all the time.

Jesus when walking as a man divided people all the time.

[Matthew 10:34-36 NKJV] 34 "Do not think that I came to bring peace on earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword. 35 "For I have come to 'set a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law'; 36 "and 'a man's enemies will be those of his [own] household."

Please go back and read what you posted in your op, and you'll have your answer - unless you're deliberately forgetting what you asked in the 1st place.

As I stated in a different thread, the more I read the Bible the more questionable it seems that the 'real God' inspired it.
Especially the emotional character of a Supreme Being.
