A common teaching which is propagated by false religion is the requirement for strong faith.

Apparently the more faith one has the more of God one has.

However in true religion faith is not discussed much at all.

The reason for this is that persons who have committed to the spiritual way of life and follow the practices of true religion have no doubt what-so-ever that God exists.

There is not one second of the day that he/she thinks that there is no God.

Having this absolute knowing that God exists............faith is not important.

The fact is ........the degree a person needs faith, is the degree they do not believe in God.

How can you countenance statements in your own Gita about Krshna coming only every 8.6 billion years? 8 billion years ago, the SUN wasn't even here much less Earth and 8 billion years from now, Earth will be a cinder, part of the atmosphere of the sun which will expand past the radius of Earth's orbit around the sun and therefore will become part of the sun, but in dust sized particles, no Earth left at all.

This is what we have learned from the study of astronomy. This is not some religious based fairy tale, it is exactly what WILL happen to Earth.

So in that light how can you believe in Krshna?

Your idea of what faith means to you, has little bearing on what faith is to Christians.

On a related note, you must have "faith" that your posting here at RHP over the years as both dasa and as vishvahetu will have have an impact on the readers; what kind of impact do you think you have had so far? And so you think your faith or lack of it has helped you?

Whether something is or is not faith, has nothing to do with how sure you are. It has to do with the reasons for your surety. If your reasons are evidenced based, then it is not faith. If your reasons are not evidence based, then it is faith.
I suspect you have absolute faith, the worst kind of faith there is.

Faith means more than one thing to most Christians. It could refer to belief in the existence of God, or it could refer to belief in the honesty of God, or it could refer to belief in the honesty of others who claim to know something about God.

If you have all understanding and knowledge then you don't need faith.

We all have areas where things just don't make sense or are unable to understand them. At this point we need faith.

Judging by your posts, you need faith just like the rest of us.

What about when you think you understand something, or think you know something (that is false). I do not think that is faith, I think it is being mistaken and possibly delusional. Faith is when you believe something that you yourself think is unsupported by the evidence.

You notice his MO, give some statement, then just stop posting since he does not want debate, he only wants obedience to his creed.

Why don't you go look up the definition of faith?

I've read a lot of ignorant posts here, but this one is right up there.

In Christianity, faith is the belief in things not seen. It at least recognizes that there can be valuable faith-beliefs that are not plainly evidenced. Having faith that a loved one will come through that which alienates them from you, in spite of the current evidence, is an example. That faith can help make it true.
