No--revenge is only for God--not us. "Vengeance is mine; I shall repay, saith the Lord"

It seems to me that the only person who can forgive a sin is the person who as sinned against. To think that Jesus can forgive a sinner is hogwash!
==============================================

Obviousy the Bible doesn't teach that it is "hogwash" for Jesus to forgive sins.

First of all David, ...[text shortened]... sins.

Jesus had and still has that same authority because He is God incarnate.[/b]
Typo. the typo [uniniquity] should have been written iniquity .

Your posts are just like that little animation beside you name.

Constantly running your mouth and waving your arms around in the dark, saying nothing.
Was this comment motivated by your close relationship to Jesus?

Just so you know, BEFORE I read your response, I decided to erase my post and write "Forget it."

No, your response was not the cause of me editing my previous remark.

It's not worth it to argue with you.

As per Biblical mandate, I accept your heartfelt apology unequivocally.

It was a good zinger. You should have left it up.

You clearly like to talk smack. So did Jesus. ["Brood of vipers", "den of thieves", etc.] I don't think he'd be mad at you if you had left it up.

I said that I erased the comment. I did not say that I offered a "heartfelt apology".

But if you wish to take it that way, go ahead.

I would accept your "heartfelt apology" for the soup kitchen comment which was clearly meant to humiliate. But I expect none and need none. I will not look for one either.

According to the biblocal mandate I would rather receive the blessing for being spoken evil of for teaching in the name of Jesus.

Thank you rather for the opportunity to be blessed.

Look, I'm just saying I forgive you for being nasty to me, with no strings
attached. In fact, I forgive you 77 times.

Then there are those who gloss over thier sins by doing something else "good".

Your working in the soup kitchen today will not wash away your fornication, thefts, lyings, and other sins of yesterday. It may feed some people, which is good.

But for some you feed that will just mean that they will be damned on a full stomach.

So we labor also to teach the Gospel of grace so they also may be forgiven.

We've had sermon competitions before.

How about a piety contest?

With extra points for:
-Snobbishness
-Condescension
-Wordiness/Windiness of posts
-Boasting and other blatant self-promotion
-Shameless Hypocrisy
