I agree completely - life is short. So I try to maximise my time.
I work full time and have two young kids so my life is already full of stuff to do.
But I love to read and I use podcasts wherever I can - sitting in the car or whatever - to pick up on my knowledge about anything and everything. I'd hate to end this life without knowing as much stuff as I can ...

lol yes. i dont know much about the world cuz idc about it, i guess all ive known is the bible belt because i havent been to many states in the u.s. so when talking about the u.s., is it still the majority of theists believe in evolution or is that only the world as a whole?
It is always great when a person says they don't care about the world...

Jeez, don't read so much into an off the cuff statement.
I meant simply that Australians see themselves as being particularly distant from the rest of the world - I guess it's a throwback to our European origins (some of the non-indigenous Australians anyway), since we're obviously pretty close to Indonesia and the rest of South East Asia.
I know what you meant and why. I just thought I would point out that since you claim to have interests in the whole world, you should start by taking the blinders off and realize that "the whole world" includes the non-English speaking piece (more than half of it), that usually gets ignored by the English speaking media - and therefore those of us who watch it.
I'm not trying to be rude or accuse you of anything, just musing on the subject as I think I am guilty of the same sort of thing.

youre absolutely right in making that assumption but i dont see why it is a bad thing. im more interested in psychology, and people individually than the world and people as a population. its not bad at all and i believe most people would agree w/ me that there is nothing wrong w/ that.
