It is the day of the week that I put the garbage out for the trucks. Doing so this morning left a few melting crystals of moisture on my crown.

The day is filled with hopes that enough snow will fall to restore life to our rivers, tempered with the knowledge that our way of travel will become narrow, and treacherous dangers will lurk along the way. This day brings hope of restoration from the drought; but it brings anxiety as well--last year's early snow deceived us, and the winter was far too dry and warm. Ski resorts were busy in December, and bankrupt in February.

Ski resorts be damned! I keep waiting for that long promised global warming to kick in. Never another cursed snowflake again!

I realize that the universe is divided into two camps: the forces of Warmth and the forces of Cold. Warmth is regenerative, life affirming, and pleasant. Cold is frigid, beastly, and not conducive to life. Those that take pleasure in Warmth are all good. Those that take pleasure in Cold are the epitomy of evil. They should be hunted down like beasts and exterminated.

What about the seas? Tropical seas are near barren when compared to the churning frigidity of the colder ones.

Get behind me Satan!

"APRIL is the cruellest month, breeding
Lilacs out of the dead land, mixing
Memory and desire, stirring
Dull roots with spring rain.
Winter kept us warm, covering
Earth in forgetful snow, feeding
A little life with dried tubers."

The beginning of one of the most sacredest texts in the English canon.

Thomas is not speaking of the warmth of tropical winters, he's referring to the snows in the Alps. Real ski country.

This is probably the most overlooked verse in the Bible.

Matt 7:1-2 JUDGE NOT, that ye be not judged. 2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

As long as she possesses the other attributes believed to be Godlike: just, loving, omniscient, ...

Comfort isn't really the issue, is it?
