if you are a good christian and need help, God could secretly tell you the winning Lotto numbers, so then everything would be OK.

Or you could just steal stuff and then follow the prescribed actions to gain forgiveness.

@avalanchethecat

That doesn't work.

If your a serious Christian to deliberately commit a serious act with the intent of asking for forgiveness would indicate that you weren't that serious or genuine in your beliefs.

However, that might work ok in a game of D&D?

If the repentance later were sincere, what would be the problem?

1) How do you know it doesn't work?
2) Does being a 'serious' christian mean that you are not allowed a sense of humour?
3) Your DM must be soft in the head.

Outrageous that you've been downvoted for this. It's like people think god can't do whatever the heck he/she/it wants. smh

@avalanchethecat

Allow me to draw your attention to the careful use of the word 'could' in the OP.

This is the kind of arid drivel spouted by humourless, self-important braggarts desperate to peer down their mumpish beaks at anyone who might garner a grin from the dogma they worship beyond the love of Jesus himself. A kind of... nope, I've run out of words.

I think I preferred it when you didn't try to be funny.
