It doesn't matter about what arguments anyone ever thinks he or she can bring "to the table." God will do what He wants. God is sovereign!
Our little imaginations and thoughts are what are worthless. We cannot wish away God. We cannot think away God. We cannot imagine ourselves outside of God's jurisdiction.
We can do nothing that God does not ...[text shortened]... scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

I think if your statement is correct, then he (God) can't choose to heal an individual if he wants. Is this how I am reading your statement?

Originally posted by yoctobyteIf I remember correctly these guys believe that once they accept Christ with their mouth that they have eternal life already and God is not able to revoke it or take it away. That is the way I read his statement.

As far as healing, God has already done his part. By "His stripes we were healed".
What prevents healing is unbelief, sin, hardness of heart, etc.
Originally posted by checkbaiterWhat type of healing do you believe that to be, physical or spiritual or both? I certainly believe we will all have 'spiritual' healing when we see him face to face... for those who belong to him. Physical I am not so sure, we will all die in our physical bodies someday... usually by way of sickness or some other failure of the body. There is also death by outside circumstances like accidents or violence.

But i do believe some are healed and some are not, and i dare say the persons sin was not a circumstance, perhaps it is nothing more than Gods grace.
If a ninety year old dies from heart failure and had been a solid Christian for.... pick a time... 50 years. Is that from sin, the persons sin?
Just trying to understand your point better. Thanks
Originally posted by yoctobyteI agree, I am speaking of physical healing. Yes we will all die eventually, of old age, but we do not have to be sick. God has already made healing available to everyone. I already stated some of the reasons we are not healed. There are more....

Originally posted by checkbaiterI have a tough time with that one and don't know that it is that clear cut. To play the devil's advocate in order to gain understanding... what of a newborn child that dies from SIDS for instance? The child has not even had a chance to know what sin is, and SIDS is not a birth defect from what I understand but death by possibly the placement of the child in the crib, not sure totally on that, but for illustration purposes it does not really matter. Do you think God can call those home and his mind is made up in spite of prayers and supplications? Or, is it totally dependent on us? Thanks
