Conservatives is American believe in the right and freedom for individuals to own guns. The left wing Liberals in America want to put restrictions on these rights. So I guess Conservatives are really more liberal by definition than the Liberals. Making laws restricting gun ownership in America has already proven not to work. The rules to prevent any type of weapons in schools did not prevent these murders from taking place. It just made things worse because nobody at the school had a gun to defend the children. All that could be done by the teachers was to throw their bodies in front of the children.

would you define all the right wing governments that have been in power in europe as 'liberals'??? ,maggie thatcher was no liberal, didnt see her demanding we all have the freedom to own bear arms.

giving the teacher guns will not stop people being killed in schools. the kids may get to see there teacher going down in a blaze of glory as their handgun takes on some crazy dudes ak-47. then you have the added danger of children spending all day within close vicinity to a gun. then you also have to take into account teaching being one of the most stressful jobs around. do you really want a stressed teacher in an inner-city school with their hands on a trigger. i bet the amount of child deaths would go through the roof.

only a complete and utter nut-case would suggest school teacher carry guns.

I guess that is why my ancestors left Europe for American. But over here it is the left wing liberals that are the nut cases. They were even calling the police and sending children home from school and suspending them several days from school for bringing toy guns to school and other nonsense like that.

Over here, the bank without an armed guard is the one that will get robbed the most. Yet our government will not spend the money to have armed guards at the schools to protect the children or allow the teachers or principal to be armed.

P.S. However, it looks like it want be long before we will be like Europe.

i guess in europe we have lived through enough violence to make us realize that guns are bad. being a country still in its adolescence you guys think guns are exciting and fun. maybe when as a country you grow-up you may see things the way europe (with its extremely low gun crime) does.

First of all I am in NY not a redneck from the south, secondly what you suggested is a planned attempt by a person or group to attack a school.
This was not the case, it was a confused autistic young man.
Behind the scenes were demonic forces at work, but we will leave it at just a confused and perhaps deranged kid.
Hardly the case for an escalated war scenario as you suggest of bigger guns.
If one of those teachers had been armed, this kid would have been stopped quickly and with minimal casualties.
There are many unreported cases where criminals or nut jobs have been stopped by armed citizens, but never mention by our biased media. But you can find the stories if you dig...
This was indeed a tragic event, but banning guns is not the answer.
