SecondSon is simply reeling off assertions about his own state of mind and beliefs. He is not offering any evidence. His certainty and his sincerity are not pieces of evidence.
So do you believe you have the monopoly in terms of identifying evidence for the existence of God?

I am saying that SecondSon isn't offering me any credible evidence. Like I said, his certainty and his sincerity are not evidence.

None that you are willing to accept as credible yes, do you concede that you could be wrong in your rejection of all the evidence around you?

Nor are these assertions evidence.
You do continually err in that what you seek as evidence is evidence for evidence. You have yourself pinned down in a cycle of circular reasoning, "ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth", as it were.

The testimony of God Himself is all the evidence you need, and literally the only real evidence there is.

Consider, for example, if you are able, this verse; "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."
Isaiah 55:11

If God's Word is really not God's Word, then what God says will be will not be, but even the secular historical record bears witness to the veracity of biblical prophecy, and has never been proven wrong.

Not by a long shot. In fact, the evidence is so overwhelming only a willfully ignorant person will deny it.

Come to your senses.

I looked at it for three decades, I don't think I am mistaken. Talking to people like you only serves to reaffirm that. You mention "all the evidence around you". If it is true that there is "evidence all around" me that the Bible is the "word of god", why is SecondSon instantly stumped when asked to cite any and instead cites some special 'gift' to know he's right that he claims he has?

I am not using "circular reasoning".

But what is your evidence that it is the "testimony of God Himself"?

I don't need evidence. I have something better.

@secondson said
I don't need evidence. I have something better.
So you don't have evidence?

Does this "something better" involve circular reasoning or you simply asserting stuff?

@fmf said
So you don't have evidence?
I didn't say I didn't have evidence. I just don't need it because I have something better.

And, so, does this "something better" involve circular reasoning or you simply asserting stuff?
