I think you are confusing hearsay with heresy.

Off topic. The topic of the thread is heresy in Christianity. 😏

"Heresy in Christianity refers to non-orthodox practices and beliefs that were deemed to be heretical by one or more of the Christian churches."

How can there be heresy in Christianity? Isn't there only one correct set of beliefs that matter in Christianity and anything that deviates from them is not Christianity?

The article points out that the heresy was rejecting the teachings of the Trinity of God. So it was men like Arius that the JWs follow today that was declared a heretic.
Again, who are these men that say it is heresy not to believe in the trinity?

When have you ever been concerned about whether a thread is 'off topic'?

Come on fuss up, which program are you using?

The Church fathers, who were Bishops from the eastern and western Christian chuches before the split, decided that it is heresy not to believe in the trinity.

Oh I see. But nothing like that mentioned from Jesus or his apostles. And the Bible itself says that "no one is to add anthing to these scriptures" in Revelation but now these church fathers have not only added to it but would even have ones put to death for not accepting them and their opinions.
Yep I'd say it would be fool to think that is all ok.....

The Chuch Fathers did not add or subtract from scripture. They interpreted what was written in scripture to help explain the relationship between the three persons of the Godhead, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Any other interpretation is a false teaching and is regarded as a Christian heresay. 😏

Why don't you take a hard look at the Watchtower Society if you want to find many things added and subtracted from scripture. They even made their own Bible to do it. 😏

You must listen to Grandmaster Jesus if you are going to learn to make the correct spiritual moves in the chess game of life. You will never win the way you are going. The master program is in the Holy Bible. Read and study it diligently. 😏
