HalleluYah !!! Praise the Lord!
Man only rests for 24 hours, not a thousand years. So obviously the day - age theory is a false theory. Enough said. You believe what is right in your own eyes, and I will believe the clear record of God.
You mean it is not Scriptural to rest in God for 2 hours starting on Tuesday ?
Christ said "Come unto me all who toil and are burdened, and I will give you rest." (Matthew 11:28)
So if I come to Jesus for "rest" on Thursday afternoon, that's a false teaching ?
How about man "rest" in Jesus Christ everyday of the week ? Suppose we teach people that Christ Himself is the reality of the Sabbath rest, and that we can cast all out heavy burden upon Jesus, any day of the week ?
Are we false teachers for teaching that ?

In my case I acknowledge the exhortation of James that all the teachers make mistakes and may stumble someone:
" Do not become many teachers, my brothers, knowing that we will receive greater judgment.
For in many things we all stumble. ..." (James 3:1,2)
But RJHinds is not among those imperfect teachers because, hey, you follow the Bible and not manmade opinions.
Okay, sarcasm aside. Hugh Ross gives me some things to consider carefully as some other people don't.
Ie. Do you think that ALL the animals created by God in Genesis were to live forever too ? Do you think the animals were not suppose to die ?
What do you do with animals multiplying which each never die ?

Firstly, let me repeat that I do not agree with the Day Age interpretation. Or at least I think seven typical day time periods is what the author intends to convey.
Now, I asked you a question about one of many points that Hugh Ross discusses. You bow out and choose silence as the wisest reply. I just wanted your opinion. I will not regard it as certain truth. I just wanted your opinion.
You are free to say that you may change or you haven't really thought about it.
You explain and fight for a lot of things GURU style. I don't know why you back off and put on the "simple little childlike believer" hat now. If you know nothing about it then maybe "false teacher" is harsh for someone who has tackled such problems and submitted reasonable, if not totally tenable answers.
Ross says sin and thus death coming into the world through Adam should not include death of animals or plants. Plants had to die in order to be eaten. Ever think about that ?
I don't know yet. I'm still thinking about it. Maybe he is on to something. Maybe I shouldn't throw out the baby with the bath water.
Do you want to go to Heaven forever ? If so why ?

In that day it shall be—
The Lord is one, And His name one.
(Zechariah 14:9 NKJV)
I only want eternal life to be with the Lord forever. I will not have to go to heaven for that.
As for the purpose of animals and plants, we can only speculate from what He said to the man and women after He created them.
Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
And God said, “See, I have given you every herb that yields seed which is on the face of all the earth, and every tree whose fruit yields seed; to you it shall be for food. Also, to every beast of the earth, to every bird of the air, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food”; and it was so.
(Genesis 1:28-30 NKJV)
We know for sure some plants were intended to be the food of both animals and humans from the very beginning. At that time there was nothing said about animals being eaten for food. I guess this does not prevent animals from doing so, however. It was not until after the flood of Noah's time that God said anything about man being permitted by God to eat animals as food.
So God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them: “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth. And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be on every beast of the earth, on every bird of the air, on all that move on the earth, and on all the fish of the sea. They are given into your hand. Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you. I have given you all things, even as the green herbs. But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.
(Genesis 9:1-4 NKJV)

I am disappointed that you do not agree with me on this, but I do not consider you a false teacher. We can all be deceived by Satan for awhile to believe a lie, but under careful scrutiny and with the help of the Holy Spirit we will eventually see the truth.
