Short answer: Yes.

There are many factors (beyond our control) that influence the course of our futures, yet the fact that your decisions profoundly impact the course of your life mean that yes, your thoughts do affect/shape/create your future.

I think a better question is do our thoughts that we believe or obsess about help create our future? I say the answer is yes. Simple thoughts in and of themselves have no power over you, rather, it is the power you give those thoughts that influences your future.

Passersby were amazed at the massive amounts of assumptions.

First we'd have to actually define what a "thought" is. I for one am not prepared to do so, as I have yet to locate a type of decision that cannot be influenced by altered brain chemistry. Tom Cruise, as I am led to understand, believes differently.

'Influence' appears to be decisively different than 'creation' (but it could just be the lack of sleep talkin'!).

Every decision was once a thought. Every decision has infleunce in our future. Every thought which doesn't becomes a decision has no influence.

No, quite the opposite. It is your thoughts that are created by your past.

Yes, but our past was created by our thoughts.
