That is hard to explain to someone who just doesn't get it. It will take your answering a question or two, about God.

Do you believe that God decides and declares what is good and what is evil?
You have someone in mind more qualified?

Do you means questions like, "Of what substance(s) is God composed? If not substances whose behavior can be studied by the science of modern physics, then by what scientific method,(SM) if any ,can studies be done? Also if this is the case, by what SM can we study the interactions between God and the physical world (which we study by modern physics)?"

I do ...[text shortened]...

A typical area of study is how The divine utterance "Let there be light" brings about light.
Mainstream science and religion have stayed apart, many pundits along the centuries have been fusing and using both.

But as to my original question, I'll have to re-think the wording of that, sorry

KellyJay, Returning to Genesis 4:7. There is something momentous hidden in this verse which I would like to discuss with you. Again, your verse -

"If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up?
and if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and his desire is for you, but you must rule over him." (Gen. 4:7)

We saw something of the personification of sin both here and in Romans 7. Can we talk about "but you must rule over him" ?

How would you recognise a miracle if you saw one?
