@secondson saidsome view this "debate" forum as an argument forum where they aggressively criticize the poster rather than keeping their comments and assertions on topic.
If that was the title, then to that I would say yes it is, but because some view this "debate" forum as an argument forum where they aggressively criticize the poster rather than keeping their comments and assertions on topic.
How would you characterize your comment here aimed at BigDoggProblem?
@secondson saidPosting as we see fit in public does not make us immune from being taken to task for how or what we post. Perhaps you haven't understood what I said, even though - as you admit - you've heard it "at least a hundred times".
I've heard FMF say "post as you see fit" at least a hundred times.
@secondson saidWell, I try hard NOT to do that.

Even in this thread, which has gone "meta", I've tried to keep my criticism focused on the specific behavior, rather than making things personal.
@fmf saidYou misinterpreted my intent. Deliberately I presume.

The character of my comment wasn't in any way "aimed" at anyone. I simply spoke to the content of the post made by BigDoggProblem.
@bigdoggproblem saidIn my opinion I think you do a good job of NOT making it personal, even if and when I disagree with any particular assertion you make.

Clearly though, based on the posts of two, I have become the focus of their "personal" criticisms.
How can one debate with those that hold grudges and continually dredge up off topic comments about past, and present, biases.

@secondson saidBut you were criticizing the poster rather than keeping your comments and assertions on topic WHILE bellyaching about the poster criticizing another poster rather than keeping their comments and assertions on topic.
You misinterpreted my intent. Deliberately I presume.

@secondson saidYou don't have to debate with (or even respond to) such people. That is the easiest solution.

@bigdoggproblem saidThat is true, and good advice. I think I may be already drifting in that direction.

@secondson saidPage three of the thread. Do you have any thoughts on the OP topic yet?
Blabbering nonsense.
@secondson saidAn awful lot of your posts, like the one above, seem to be all het-up and off-topic because of your apparent animosity towards certain posters. Do you simply have nothing to say about this thread's topic?
