Just out of curiousity, have any of you heard the theory that Mohammad is the false prophet spoken of in Revelation and the Dome of the Rock is the Abomination of Desolation?
I never thought of that! Interesting.

Revelation is a deranged and ridiculous fairy tale. Anyone who takes it seriously needs the help of a mental health professional.

Your post is a prime example of the direction in which the world is headed.

Isaiah 5:20
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Idiotic as usual. Maybe you could tell us how the European Union is the 7 headed beast or how the Roman Catholic Church is the "whore of Babylon" or expound similar insane "theories" as to what the author of Revelation meant. The latest one I heard is how Obama is the AntiChrist; that seems about as logical as that the Dome of the Rock is the Abomination of Desolation.

Idiocy isn't limited to only Christians. As a matter of fact I'd say Christians are in the minority when it comes to that.

The sheer numbers of idiotic things said and done in this world is by far shared in the agrigate with the masses of humanity throughout the world, but your personal bias has blinded you to the obivious.

KM, what happened with the "Good works and Gratitude " thread? You seemed to walk away from it just as I was having you for breakfast. Do you concede you have no Biblical references to put forward ?

In any event I (and Im sure others on this site) consider you to be a disgusting and annoying stalker. I rather keep away from your type.

**** Door Slams *****
I'm always fascinated by the lengths people will go in order to deceive themselves and hide from the truth.

I'm willing to return to any thread you care to mention. The problem is that you will place some barrier in the way (like "any argument that doesn't include a Biblical reference is null and void" ). You placed this false constriction on that debate in order to avoid a rational discussion. It's a clever tactic but easily overcome once one realises one is doing it.

You are only kidding yourself you know. Once you realise the tremendous capacity we all have for self delusion you can begin on the road to an enlightened life. Until then your position will remain unexamined. You cannot hide behind scripture forever , the truth is bigger than even the Bible.

You see , you stand against the grace and love of God and you have little idea of what unconditional acceptance actually is. If you stand against God's grace then I have little choice but to challenge you on it because you are distorting the truth. I mean nothing personal by it though. All the talk of "having you for breakfast" is just banter to me.

peace

Actually, the bit about the Abomination of Desolation comes from Daniel and not Revelation. In fact, nothing is really new in Revelation, rather, bits and pieces from Revelation can all be found in the prophetic Old Testament.

The belief that the Dome of the Rock is the Abomination of Desolation is nothing new. In fact, Jerry Landay in his book, The Dome of the Rock (Newsweek, New York, NY, 1972) p. 18, records that when Khalipfah Omar enetered Jerusalem in 639 AD, he was met by Sophronius, Bishop of the Jerusalem Church, who showed him around the city. Seeing the temple mount (then in rubble), Omar declared that he was going to build a memorial to Muhammad on the original site of the temple of God. Sophronius exclaimed in horror. Verily, this is the Abominiation of Desolation as spoken of by Daniel the prophet, and it now stands in the holy place. Though Sophonius was a very old man of about 80, Khalifah Omar put him in prison and to forced labor, the severities of which killed him. This teaching has been with the Church for over 1300 years, but somehow we have managed to forget the prophetic words of Sophronius.

What is amazing is that the Dome of the Rock was built on the Holy Temple Mount in 688 AD, precisely 1290 years from the destruction of the captivity of the Israelites from Jerusalem in 583 BC. These 1290 days equal years, which came about in 688 AD. The Bible predicts the coming of Islam, the desecration of the temple mount, and the building of the memorial built by Abd el Malik ibn Marwan, a Gentile, in place of the Holy Temple where God chose for his name to dwell.

In addition, the Dome stands as a testament against the teaching that Jesus is the Son of God. Inscribed on the Dome reads, "Far be it from His transcendent majesty that he should have a son." Since the Quran teaches that God has no Son, Islam is specifically antichrist in terms of Christian theology.

As for the bit about Mohammad being a false prophet, it is assumed that this prophet would speak about the God of the Bible but in a false light. From a Christian perspective, no other prophet of the Bible has had greater impact upon mankind other than Jesus Christ. As for Christ, he is the promised Messiah of the Old Testament and has gained a world wide following. Conversely, Mohammad could be put in a similar light with the exception of not being thought as of the Messiah. In fact, where does Mohammad fit into Biblical prophesy if not the false prophet? If prophesy be of God, surely a man of Mohammad's stature and following would have been mentioned by the prophets, but where? Christ repeatidly pointed to the scriptures showing that they foretold of his coming. In a way, it was his credentials, but what of Mohammad? Where does he point to his credentials regarding the prophesies foretelling of his coming?
