JW's and prophecy.....

Spirituality

We have always used the Bible as the sole authority for our beliefs, so we have adjusted our beliefs as our understanding of the Scriptures has been clarified.

Such changes are in harmony with the Bible principle stated at Proverbs 4:18: “The path of the righteous is like the bright morning light that grows brighter and brighter until full daylight.” Just as the rising sun reveals details of a landscape gradually,
(((((((((( God grants an understanding of divine truth progressively, in his due time. (1 Peter 1:10-12))))))))))
As the Bible foretold, he has accelerated this process during “the time of the end.”—Daniel 12:4.

These adjustments in our understanding should neither surprise nor disturb us. Ancient worshippers of God also had mistaken ideas and expectations and needed to adjust their viewpoint.

Moses offered himself as a deliverer for the nation of Israel 40 years ahead of God’s timetable.—Acts 7:23-25, 30, 35.

The apostles failed to understand the prophecy that foretold the Messiah’s death and resurrection.—Isaiah 53:8-12; Matthew 16:21-23.

Some early Christians had wrong ideas about the timing of “the day of Jehovah.”—2 Thessalonians 2:1, 2.

God later corrected their misunderstandings, and we pray that he will continue doing the same for us.—James 1:5.

If one belongs to a religion that has adopted beliefs from pagan teachings and has over time not removed themselves from those pagan and demonic teachings, what does that say about that religion? Would they be able to say they are following truths about Jehovah and his son Jesus? Lol, they even refuse to use God's name.

Yes the Witnesses have had some misunderstandings about what is written in the Bible. But instead of hiding behind beliefs that are not even in the bible and that are "JUST: accepted by the world, we have the courage to make adjustments when needed no matter the ridicule that the world of false religion throws at us. We know who is on our side..... His mane is Jehovah and his son is Jesus.

“May people know that you, whose name is Jehovah, you alone are the Most High over all the earth.” Psalm 83:18 “Know that Jehovah is God. He is the one who made us, and we belong to him.” Psalm 100:3 “I am Jehovah. That is my name; I give my glory to no one else, nor my praise to graven images.”

What? What does this say about graven images? Oh my....I think the Catholic church needs to clean house??????????

What a load of baloney as usual. The Peter reference in the KJV says:

Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you: Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow. Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into. (1Pe 1:10-12 KJV)

Totally contrary to what you said. Did youall change the bible to suit your doctrine again?

When are you going to stop making excuses for all the hundreds of failed prophecies.

O, the irony.

No man knows the Mind of God or when the world will end, whatever you think it says in Scripture.

@moonbus
Well to be honest with you, yes we do know the mind of Jehovah. The reason we do is because of the Bible. Everything that we need to know within our existence on this planet he has it all written down for us.
Now if one is so to say not able to understand this book that he had prepared for the humans that have the right heart and is willing to be humble in both heart and mind.. it is all there. Absolutely everything we need to know and understand what his plans are for us and the planet earth is written down.
He clearly said that as time in our history progressed, the light of his truths for us would get brighter and brighter.
Sadly there is nothing that religions preach today has not changed that they still scare their flocks with such as burning in hell forever. But as long as you put your money in the collection plate, you just might make it to heaven.
And the worst is they still have no clue who Jehovah is.........
But as hard as it is to believe for most here that have their sub divided churches that kind of believe as they see fit for their members, which is exactly the opposite of what Jesus said his followers would be....Any JW can go to any congregation on any continent and in any town and everyone of us all believe exactly the same thing with no deviations. Jesus said "one flock..one shepherd."

“Have among yourselves the same mental attitude that Christ Jesus had, that with (((((( one )))))) accord you may with ((((((( one ))))) mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”—ROMANS 15:5, 6.

1 edit

The parable about the fig tree was a curse or not? Then the same Christ has power to curse. In spirit.

It's a debating point because none of the John's gospel has other parables, whether from a form of Greek mysticism or earlier language.

Why start your post with a blatant lie?

Misunderstandings (failed predictions) is a massive understatement, and you DO hide behind beliefs that are not in the Bible, such as Jesus being the Archangel Michael.

That is a misunderstanding you are yet to absorb.

What was Jesus's name before he came to earth to be named Jesus? Of course one has to acknowledge he did exist before he was born here on earth as a human infant.
You probably don't have a clue about that fact, do you?

What makes you think the fig tree was a parable?

@galveston75
Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but to them that are without, all things come in parables (Mark 4:11).

Jesus says its a parable. I guess you dont believe in Jesus, or the Watchtower changed the wording of the KJV to suit their false doctrine. Here it is :

Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors. Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. (Mat 24:32-35 KJV)

A parable is a story rooted in real life, which is used to teach a spiritual lesson. Jesus did not really need to say it was a parable. Most people could have figured it out for themselves. But Jesus knew you guys would come along and try to lead people astray.

You are absolutely correct. You must know Jesus's name. Jesus says so very clearly.

And a certain ruler asked him, saying, Good Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life? And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? none is good, save one, that is, God.
Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother. And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.
Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: You must know my name before I was born here on earth as a human infant. (WatchTower18:18-22 NIV)

So "whom" is the applying too? It very much indicates that "someone" would understand what the scriptures are saying, right? If no one were to ever understand the bible and every statement in it, which would be quite silly, it would be pointless to even have the bible written.
The bible was not written for angels, or for Jesus.... it was written for mankind.
BUT........ one has to be willing to do all that Jehovah had written down. If we pick and choose what we like and don't like...there is the problem in understanding.

And the only people who understand the bible is .... Watchtower.

We got it the first 100 times you made this claim, over the last 15 years
