Is this a philosophy for fools?

I think it's part and parcel of the human condition that things like philosophy and ideology can lead people to fool themselves or even to make fools of themselves.

It is for people who want to be persecuted by their enemies. 😏

It makes a mockery of the word "love".

No, it is what a Holy Loving God has told us to do, mainly because Jesus
Christ died for each and every sinner. So who are we to hate or hold a
grudge against anyone with all the things He has to forgive us for?

We are not even to be happy about bad things happening to those that
we call our enemies.

Proverbs 24:

17 Do not gloat when your enemy falls;
when they stumble, do not let your heart rejoice,

18 or the Lord will see and disapprove
and turn his wrath away from them.

this is the ultimate expression of love, unbiased and unconditional love. it is taking the higher road to be sure!

Certainly not. Even disregarding the spiritual angle, it is at least more likely to turn them into your friends than is fermenting hatred in your soul and carpet-bombing their children and neighbours.

Love does not always beget love, and hatred does not always beget hatred; but those are far more likely than the opposite, no matter what politicians and military leaders may tell you.

How is love used here do you think?

In the Greek language there are 5 kinds of love. I looking more at agape, that is, simply treating people the way you would wish to be treated. The whole emotional aspect of love, that is, liking them, is not what I'm talking about here.

This sort of love is supernatural in nature.

As human beings, we do not naturally love those who hate us. There is nothing natural about it, hence the term supernatural.

Those of faith would argue that it is love perfected.

Well, sure, if you want to use the word "love" in a completely different fashion than how it is used commonly then I suppose everything goes.

Me, I like to use the word "rape" to indicate treating people the way you would wish to be treated. Rape your enemies as you would like to be raped.

Do you think raping your enemies is a foolish thing to do?
