They are "ambiguous" to you because you have no experience of regeneration and are stubburn in unbelief.

You fail to grasp how the Spirit of life works from the inside OUT.
you fail to acknowledge a single point, i cannot respect that, is the earth going to be a paradise as God has purposed, or is it not, cannot bring yourself to say it, hard to respect that dude. No experience of regeneration, who are you to say where Christ may sow and reap or where he may not? who are you to say that God has finished with me? are you so Holy that you are yet sitting beside Christ as a priest and a judge?

Woa, the British museum does not give the Lindisfarne Gospels to anyone, it has taken years of negotiation to have them returned to Durham, you gotta feel the history! radio head, id love to kick their A$$, most dirgiest group since coldplay and equally as boring, cannot respect them dude, no disrespect, just hard to believe in their music.

ha, i take it the 'lidisfarne gospels' are not a touring choir group then. ive googled them now and saved myself the drive. not my bag, i worked at the british academy of art while they had a exhibition on russian religious art, it was a pretty tedious few months. i like a good church but religious art and artifacts tend to leave me cold.

dude you don't know what you have there, its pure history, not your bag? its your cultural heritage, its morally imperative that you take your children to see them! They are not only art, they are heritage, your heritage, my heritage, our children's heritage! Forget all that church and choir jive talk, these are the real thing and well worth seeing.

when will you next get the opportunity to show your kids a genuine medieval work of art in this amazing condition, produced in the UK, with a history pertinent to your area of residence? If it was me id be licking the glass case windows. I thought you lived in Sunderland? isn't that near Durham?

no, im from the picturesque, quaint little town of middlesbrough.

i dont really feel connected in a cultural sense to historical artifacts. i enjoy history, my wife and daughter are total history nerds so we spend more time in museums than is healthy. so id have a look at it, but it would mean very little to me. if i was in the north east id rather go for a walk on hadrians wall.

ok, my mistake, i dont know why I thought you were from Sunderland, so Mrs Palfie and wee Miss Palfie are history nerds, awesome, I too love history, please put them on so i can talk to them and send you to Durham, there will be no resisting once they get wind of it! The Antonine Wall runs through my little town of Kirkintilloch, you can still see it fairly well in places, it was really a ditch though, but still, there are many Roman remains near me, but no Lindisfarne Gospels, although i have been to Holy Island.

so we both love art, history, sport, music and have leanings towards socialism (not that you can admit) we both think respecting our women is important and place a huge importance on the family unit.

so why do you think my atheism makes me shallow and immoral?

Not all body builders are narcissistic or people who stay fit.......I'm lost LOL 😉 I don't think anyone here would argue with your basic premise though. I know materialism is a sham as no amount of stuff can fulfill

there are aspects of your atheism that will almost certainly lead to the acceptance of practices that i personally hold to be immoral, for example abortion, or the acceptance of certain sexual practices or participation in war for there is no moral imperative for you not to sanction these ideas. I provide them simply as examples, not that you hold them personally. There are no doubt also practices which are a direct consequence of my religious convictions which you may find to be immoral, the rejection of intravenous blood transfusions for example, to forfeit ones life rather than compromise on principle etc.

As for being shallow, i dont think its possible that we can be shallow at all times, i am sure that even the greatest airhead in the galaxy must at some point think deeply and that the most profound thinkers may be given to the occasional episodes of jesting.

I think Christians and atheists both think the rejection of intravenous blood transfusions to save someones life is immoral. So I would leave that one out of your examples, next time. The old JWs before 1945 did not believe that way.

its not fair how you have 6 thumbs down and started another good discussion!

I have a Saitek Master with wooden chess set - yes quality! but I try to make that the limit of my materialism - money can't buy a better chess computer so its worth the money but with most things I am quite thrifty.
