i noticed a few days back whilst on a ward, there were two men stood next to each other who claimed to hear the voice of god. one was a patient, the other was the hospital chaplain.

So perhaps you have made yourself your own god. I don't see that it matters, because if you still do not acknowledge the true and living God, then there is no salvation for you.
