I certainly think that something that amounts to religious child sacrifice [which has been discussed here several times] ~ allowing one's child to die for want of medical treatment in order to please a God figure/not displease that God figure ~ is an example of religiosity that involves the shedding of sanity and human decency.

That's demented geester. His mental illness made him dangerous. The man could have just as easily got it into his head to drive his car into a crowd of pedestrians, because of the mental illness.

FMF and geester, all you two are doing is jaw jacking and palavering about what you know nothing about.

It's embarrassing.

Do you suggest that people with mental illness should not be allowed to drive cars in case they deliberately kill pedestrians?

So was Lubitz a Christian?

Would he have been branded a "terrorist" if he was Muslim?

From a religious recruiting point of view its the perfect time to engage with someone, when they are vulnerable!

That is true. I have also seen religious recruiting going on at funerals and by sick beds for the same reason.
Have you experienced that kind of emptiness, or do you have your own renegade mission?

Sounds like you may be suffering from negative volition, only seeing the glass half empty.

Maybe your family needed to hear a requiem homily from the pastor on attending Church.

When I was afflicted the arms of providence cared for my whole being including my soul-life.

The military has a history of bad recruiting practices yet we still honor those who served.

The soldiers are more susceptible to mental illness than your typical antidepressant user, and it is an ugly truth that many people have their spiritual disease hiding under pretenses.

Is that a fact?
No sir, an opinion.

People who think they have all the facts are not interested in the opinions of other; which is what makes them dangerous. (And totally annoying).

I guess some just can't handle not being taken so seriously.

If Andreas Lubitz was being treated for 'suicidal tendencies' presumably you agree he perhaps should not have been allowed to pilot a passenger plane if the issue was not completely resolved. Do you think he should have been banned from driving a car as well?

Obviously he should have been immediately locked up in an insane asylum. 😏
