You are not well read.....and you have blindly accepted Christianity above all else.

There are many who believe they are God, and they are called impersonalists or Mayavadi,s. (google it)
You can't read well.

I didn't say I didn't know people claimed to be god. I know there are people claiming to be god.

I simply said I never heard anyone say it.

Don't be foolish. My faith isn't blind.

Anyway, I've ran into a few loopy people claiming to be god or words to that effect, also I've met quite a few claiming to be jesus as well
Then you must be 'loopy' too. 😉

Wow. Every bit as offensive as Dasa. Have you ever worked with the mentally ill? Do you really have no respect for people whose belief systems with regard to "God" are different from yours? Wow.

Your definition of mental illness is spot on......because all the troubles of the mind are stemming from spiritual retardation.

Coming from someone who rejects science, it's no wonder you could say something as ill-informed and as mean-spiritited as this about people suffering from mental illnesses. But karoly will perhaps take heart from being on the same page of make-it-up-as-you-go-along blather as you.

I find karoly and Dasa's theory about mental illness both laughable and contemptible. Are there any religious people here who also think that mental illness is caused by "separation from God" or "spiritual retardation"? I thought that this kind of ignorant unscientific quackery died out in the 18th or 19th century.

The biggest load of offensive tosh i've read in a while. Next they'll be telling us that natural disasters are caused by God to punish people.

Snap!!
I mean no offence to the mentally ill and the retarded.
My definition just extends beyond the classical definitions and adds a root cause to all those other disorders. It does not dismiss mental illness as traditionally known it includes that definition as well.

Sorry if I've offended anyone.
please note that I had put god in inverted commas

Yes , I have worked with the mentally ill.

I have immense respect for people whose beliefe systems are different from mine , (as long as those belief systems dont include physical coercion of any kind), I dont know why you would infer that.

I still dont see how saying that my definition of mental illness is being separate from "God" , is so offensive?
