You think virtues are gender specific?

Would you say mothers or wives is gender specific?

If you being sarcistic its not working.

That is a rather good modern version and nothing is wrong with it.
Evidently it worked well enough for you to pick up on it. I had no illusions about your admitting it was effective.

I have a feeling that certain members of the audience may appreciate it, however.

Your fatuous answer says a lot about you - and frankly I'm disappointed;
you have always struck me is being on the right side of loony theist.

But to your question: I would say the traditional role of mother
and the traditional role of wife are obviously NOT gender specific.

So now will you answer my question? Or do the usual theist side-step
shuffle and answer with a cryptic question?

😞 😞 😞

Obviously you think there is something backward about tradional roles. I don't share that view.

there is nothing wrong with traditional roles, but saying that traditional roles define what a 'good' woman should be is sexist and a tad misogynistic.

Rather than vague talk how about something of substance.
What is sexist or wrong or deficient about the passage from Proverbs?

How many mothers and wives actually live up to Solomons words of wisdom... Or is it too difficult for modern women:

your statement suggests that woman should aspire to solomons list to be a good woman. the list is mainly made up of traditional female roles. so you are saying woman should act like traditional woman in order to be a good woman. that my friend is a sexist attitude. a good woman is not defined by her ability to do good housework and look after a family.

If all you see is housework and looking after family, then you need some lessons in English Language and Comprehension.

For others who can read and interpret, the passage shows a woman who in addition to family responsibilities is capable of buying and selling, investing and financial decision making, personnel management, financial management, all that plus diplomacy.

Go tell your parents to read the passage over for you.

One cannot lay the blame at the parents for the failure of the student to learn, some persons are simply unteachable.

you translate that to

If all you see is housework and looking after family,

the word 'mainly' indicates that there are other things in the list..

i would suggest it is in fact you who needs (as you so politely put it) - 'some lessons in English Language and Comprehension

the list may also imply that a woman is capable of buying, selling, diplomacy and so on....but the onus is her role as a housewife.

i would also point out that the fact a man has written a list telling woman what they need to do is pretty sexist regardless of its content.

Actually the passage is praising a wifes virtues, how its possible to construe that as sexist is at present unfathomable. I suspect that if Swiss bearded transvestite can win a European singing competition over a Polish milk maid, then its a topsy turvy world in which we live and this offering of yours reflects that back-to-frontness.
