@plantermoo saidYou really aren't going to get very far with this until you accept genetic similarities as all the 'evidence' that is needed for all living things to have a common ancestor. Species are not genetically linked because they eat the same kinds of food. (!) Food, or air for that matter, does not determine genetic makeup.
There’s no evidence for it outside of an unknown number of disputed transitional fossils and a similar genetic makeup among animals and among animals and humans, which is not surprising considering we live on the same planet, breathe the same air and eat the same kinds of foods
Let's start with this; 'humans' are in fact animals. Try to get your head around that and see how it goes from there.

@indonesia-phil saidFor humans to be animals, you’d have to explain the enormous difference between humans and animals in capabilities and accomplishments.

Humans have walked on the moon, built skyscrapers, invented technology that allows for instantaneous communication between different continents, composed symphonies, written literary masterpieces, invented technology that enables us to see distant galaxies and molecules, etc.
What animal is anywhere close to that?

@plantermoo saidThe theory of evolution is the religion of atheists and is how atheists justify their atheism.
The theory of evolution is more of a religion than science. It’s the religion of atheists and is how atheists justify their atheism. It’s never been anything more than that.
Atheism is a lack of belief on a god or gods. Atheists don't need to "justify" their lack of belief in anyone'seyes, even if you think they do. Religion revolves around a set of beliefs in - and worship of - a superhuman being or beings. So atheism isn't a religion.
@plantermoo saidI don't think he does. There are also "enormous differences" berween gorillas and snails. Indonesia Phil doesn't have to explain that in order to say humans, gorillas and snails are all animals.

@fmf saidDo you really believe the difference in accomplishments between a human and chimp are the same as the difference in accomplishments between a gorilla and a snail - leaving aside the obvious anatomical differences that limit the accomplishments of a snail in comparison to a gorilla?

I said the theory of evolution was a religion used to justify atheism. Always has been.
@plantermoo saidThe fact that humans - who are mammals and primates - have "enormous differences" with other animals does not mean that humans are not part of the Earth's fauna.

@fmf saidHumans were created separately from animals. There’s no other way to explain the enormous differences between humans and the most advanced animal.

@fmf saidIt’s used to justify atheism. If you don’t want to call it a religion, fine. The theory of evolution is a faith-based belief that is used to justify atheism.

@plantermoo saidAh, the old "There’s no other way to explain..." chestnut, again.
Humans were created separately from animals. There’s no other way to explain the enormous differences between humans and the most advanced animal.
@plantermoo saidI don't agree with you. Atheists simply lack belief in a supernatural being or beings.

@plantermoo saidI don't need to. The "enormous differences" do not mean that humans are not animals.
Feel free to explain the enormous differences
