Funny thing is, I was about to put, 'we don't know if there is life on other planets', but if someone has been visited by aliens, then at least one of us knows for sure. They just have trouble convincing anyone else, without sounding like a crackpot. 😁

One thing we do know is that some people think it matters and are insatiably curious about it, whereas others think it does not matter (whether it had an origin or whether we can know the origin) and are not nearly so curious about it.
