My point exactly. Which makes "Patience is a virtue" kind of misleading and bromide.

Patience within the individual is always desirable . In all aspects of life. A clear and descicive person who acts swiftly and smoothly comes from a patient , alert mind.

Patience is not always a virtue. Sometimes it is a virtue. A capacity for patience is a good thing. Maybe we can agree on that.

"Art of War" by Sun Tzu is a good read for chess and life.

Patience by itself is not always a virtue . Agreed. Still the saying remains.
I think a lot of sayings like that are great tools for learning

'A stitch in time saves nine'. Works on more than one level.

I have a copy somewhere and used to look at it for inspiration when I was leading a large sales force a few years back. I found it interesting but of limited use on a day to day basis.

I’m a procrastinator so “a stitch in time saves nine” certainly speaks to me.

Procrastination is always preferrable to hasty decisions. It is the sign of a concientious person.

Correct. Once the correct path is known, delay is never beneficial.

Do you also agree with the following?

    Patience is a virtue,
    possess it if you can,
    never in a woman,
    always in a man.

Sure it is. A mind which procrastinates gives decent thought to both sides of a debate.
Procrastination is a useful step to understanding our mind and its complexities.

I'm afraid you are going to have to do better than " No. It isn't " to convince me.Lol

So this is your contribution ?

A fine sentiment indeed. But how would you convince me that you actually know this path?
Does everyone have to walk along the same one?
