Yes, I agree wholeheartedly, I think if a society such as I suggest
gets started ( I am thinking here of a sci fi story where an incredibly
intelligent and creative person secretly solves the problems inherent
in interstellar travel and arranges to take a few thousand atheists
and agnostics to maybe the next galaxy over, like Andromeda, to
found a new ...[text shortened]... ured out fire, which is what the human race desperately
needs to get out of this terrible bind.
Why do you say "religion does not raise its ugly head", don't you
think it is people that raise their ugly heads that causes all the ills
instead of religion. After all inside and outside of religion there are
always the so called 'ugly head' where the ills of life flow from people
some with and without religion. Making the common denominator not
religion but people instead.

I think that was the whole point of my post, that people themselves
need an upgrade if we are to get out of this terrible kill them because
they are the wrong religion bind. Its not the power of god doing all
this, its the immaturity of the human race doing it which is why I
suggested the only way out is for the human race to get a jump-start
on evolution and get a lot smarter/compassionate/creative,
whatever it takes to get us to think for ourselves rather than always
having to referance every dam movement, every thought, to some
outside our experience god or other. That is the ugly head of
religion.
