Originally posted by KellyJayOk thanks. First I dont 'see it' any way at all, simply because its an expression that is not in the Bible so I dont use it. Same way I would not the words Trinity. Triune or say 'trying to earn ones salvation is a sin'. Those expressions/concepts do not exist in the Bible.
It is quite simple, we are not to stand off from God and let another tell us
about Him. We are to come to Him, be filled by His Spirit, follow His lead,
obey His commands, love Him and those He died for. There are countless
examples of each of us being called to God, this is a personal choice, and
to answer God's call is to start a relationship with Him ...[text shortened]... row together some
scripture for you. I don't have a lot of time at the moment, but will.

I learned that it is important to think of God as "thou" and "thee":
Psalm 63 King James Version (KJV)
63 O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
2 To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
3 Because thy lovin ...[text shortened]... stopped.
King James Version (KJV)
Edit: I lack the qualifications to be called a Christian.

As for what you said it appears that you group together some of the things said in ...[text shortened]... ing his commandments then I will agree.
So I will wait on your references or further comment.

I'm not sure how you can miss it? It is a one on one relationship between
you and God, that alone makes it personal! It isn't like you have to go
through someone else, or something else. It is as close as family, since
we are called sons and daughters, and God is much closer to us than our
earthly families are.
I'll give you scripture as soon as I can string together some time.
