@kellyjay saidOkay . None of us were here when your Jesus was supposed to be around . So you can say , using your own words , neither of us were there and by hypotheticals prove anything . There is exactly zero proof that your god has ever existed . No one was there . Just a bunch of fairytales .
The fossil’s look like they look, our assigning age to them is on us not God. People can claim fossil look old, and claim men are really women all day long. Reality doesn’t change due to how we assign things.
If you want to talk about the distant past neither of us were there and by hypotheticals prove anything. We are stuck in the here and now do what we find now make ...[text shortened]... eed you errors creating false narratives? You don’t have to narrow your analysis to just scripture.
@caissad4 saidThere are written records in and outside of the faith. The birth, life, death, and resurrection. of Christ was according to scripture from long before His birth, and writings from a couple who spent time with Him, one who was a deciple of another who walked with Him, a gentle physician for the gospels of Jesus Christ, and another who was attacking the church and had an encounter with the Lord changing his whole life around to where he wrote most of the NT. All walks of life were involved in the written Word.

You have something from history written that validates your narrative of how we got here, or is all cleverly devised stories someone made up that must be altered whenever reality shows us that can’t be true?
@kellyjay saidAgain , you were not there . There are written records of Harry Potter and Gandalf .

@kellyjay saidYou weren't there when the Bible was written, so you don't know whether any of the people who wrote it were eye-witnesses or just full of hooey.

@kellyjay saidRighto then, so, if you accept the fact of biological evolution, when do you think it started? Ten million years ago? A million years ago? A week last Thursday?
It is simple, evolution can mean many things in the context it is used. From common ancestor to simply change over time, do you have difficulty with this? Suggesting I have to accept the whole gambit is simply not true.
@indonesia-phil saidSmall changes over time do not translate into wholesale changes over time. Accepting small changes in existing systems and features does not mean new systems and features will arise due to them.

@caissad4 saidThe comparisons are ludicrous but that is all you got. Today when someone writes and signs their name to a letter to friends, colleagues, family unless you have some valid reason to doubt the signature it’s acceptable. You are comparing that to known works of fiction, most of your arguments have something to do with fiction. When you actually get around to giving positive reasons for your beliefs instead of denying what you don’t want to be true let everyone know please.
Again , you were not there . There are written records of Harry Potter and Gandalf .
@moonbus saidThere are numerous reasons to accept those writings as is, but getting back to one more question you dance around! If you don’t know the past are you now in danger of being led astray by errors and lies?
You weren't there when the Bible was written, so you don't know whether any of the people who wrote it were eye-witnesses or just full of hooey.
@kellyjay saidYou have hitched your emotional and intellectual wagons to a particular theological narrative and you have convinced yourself that you "know the past" even though your claims fall within the realm of subjectivity. Are you in danger of being led astray by errors and lies?
If you don’t know the past are you now in danger of being led astray by errors and lies?
@kellyjay saidI think the main one is "faith". The rest of the reasons and arguments and "evidence" you come up with are largely aspiration-bases. If your faith is strong, you should perhaps accept that your faith is enough for you and that you feel it should be enough for others too. I mean, you sell your faith short by coming up with astoundingly weak "arguments" like "The fossil’s look like they look, our assigning age to them is on us not God."
