I have come late to this party, and, having read through all the posts, I am filled with an overwhelming sadness which reinforces my deliberate absence from this forum for a number of years.
I have decided, rightly or wrongly, that this is no longer an enjoyable debating forum where the BIG QUESTIONS can be discussed in an atmosphere of mutual respect. It is an arena where ad hominem attacks and slurs are the weapons of choice rather than intellectual rigour and the desire to hone one’s own thoughts and beliefs and be willing to adapt and move forward. The big EGO is king here! Good luck to all combatants and try to remember that at the end of the day there can be no winners.

As I reflect on days of yore, I recall that Suzianne was always gracious to me – as my spiritual proclivities evolved, even as they were far from her own.
I also had really good relationships with FMF and Divegeester. I also had really good relationships (back in that day) with people I argued with vociferously (e.g. lucifershammer, for those who remember).

Whatever your smoking please send me some. These forums have always been a lions den. If anything, it has gotten somewhat better. The Clan forum use to be free for all cage matches. It could get brutal.
I think as we age, we remember only the good times and we try to shut out the bad. Don't get me wrong here, there was and is enjoyable times and friendship found in these forums. There is something about internet conversation which causes one to be more of a jerk than if the conversation was in person. I think we tend to forget that there is an actual person on the other end.

If I remember correctly, The Spirituality Forum was added some years after I first joined, along with some of the other forums. You may be correct, as I never came to this forum much until the last few years or so.
