Actually the Biblical definition of righteousness is much simpler - it’s right standing with God. And the way one achieves righteousness is often thought to be accomplishing what’s on your list. But Christians know the only way to achieve righteousness is to believe in Jesus Christ.
apparently the 'Christians' are greatly divided.

I'm not a Christian but I know what it is to live by Christian values. Thats because I live it. Nothing you say can diminish this. I've already proven it.

Fair enough sir.

Don't undervalue being in the corner though. It's a good place to launch an unseen attack.

🙂
I will not conform to anyone elses definitions of what I should be.
If being in the corner is a good thing for you then stay there. I dont know.

Can you feel it? Change is here.
Spirituality forum is getting revamped.
We're going to redefine what this place is for the better and for always. I'm going to re-sub so when I get mod notices or bans I can say I was truly a team player and not just another string along.
A feast of friends or one big family?

Ok. Do you care to illustrate how you are living by Christian values with examples?
Even if you are, that doesn’t punch your ticket to heaven as man’s “good works” are but filthy rags to God.

Accepting Christ as one’s Lord and Saviour is the only way to get righteous with God.

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

(John 14:6)

Any advice on how to avoid the grief that I bring upon myself?
Well, before I begin, let's compare your question to dg's response to the same post:
"What grief is it you think I cause myself suzianne?"

He questions that he brings any grief to himself at all. It is a prideful response. On the other hand, you ask how you can avoid the grief you bring to yourself. I just wanted to point that out before I answer.

I think you do bring a lot of your grief on yourself because you know how they will react to anything you say. They're fully invested in their course against you. They have zero freedom now to react in any other way. I try to reduce the inevitable grief which comes my way from them by attempting to choose my battles. I no longer react to everything they say, as they feel they must. Unlike them, I am not as concerned about my own opinion of my own 'forum reputation' as they are, and so therefore I'm perfectly free to blow them off and simply not answer their childish attacks. My advice to you would be to simply not react to their every command to 'dance' for their amusement. I'm not saying to never dance, but be sure it is because you want to, and not because they insist.

I've started a few threads here. Have you replied? Hmmmm
Do you really care what I have to say about living my Christian values while you picktooth through them with 20/20 hindsight ??
Bootoff. Meet me halfway with your righteousness or boot off. It's the Christian way

So you believe good works make you righteous (in right standing with God) and you boast of how much more righteous you are compared to me, yet you won’t identify what your good works are?

Surely if your good works have made you righteous, it would benefit everyone to learn what they are so they could emulate you.

And yet you won’t say and feign being offended that I asked.

Interesting...

Yes, I’m coming to learn suzianne is quite sharp (and I really dig her avatar.)
