All Red Hot Pawn Members reading this sentence are appointed once to die [physical death] and then to stand before God for judgment. No exceptions. All of us at a time and place and in a manner known only to the Omniscience of Almighty God.

Our individual appearance will be either @ The Judgment Seat in Heaven at which all Believers in Christ will stand to hear, "Welcome Home" and evaluated for reward. All others will stand before God @ the Great White Throne at the end of The Millennium: for their good works and human righteousness to be totaled. Since the total will = [0] compared to God's Divine Righteousness, all unbelievers will hear: "Depart from Me; I Never Knew You." and separated from God from that moment throughout an eternity of endless suffering... alone with memories of saying "No" to His Grace Gift in time.

Judge for reward or loss of reward and punishment.

Christians can be punished during the coming millennial age.

All others will stand before God @ the Great White Throne at the end of The Millennium: for their good works and human righteousness to be totaled. "Depart from Me; I never knew (or allowed or acknowledged) you" I believe will be said to some at the Judgment seat of Christ for temporary punishment.

These included genuine Christians who worked and did things apparently for the Lord Jesus yet not according to the Father's will.

This is like running in a race but failing to stay legally within the lines of your lane. They ran the Christian race but in a lawless way.

Most assume that the Lord saying I never knew you or "depart from Me" has to mean eternal punishment. I have been persuaded that this is not necessarily the case.

Some Christians qualified to stand before Christ at the judgment seat of Christ will be temporarily cast into "the outer darkness" . The "outer darkness" I believe is a place other than the lake of fire.

If we do not believe this way then there are a number of parables which would lead to an understanding that the Lord's servants cast into the outer darkness were not the Lord's servants. But He says they WERE His servants. So they must be true believers.

If the "outer darkness" is eternal perdition then the accounts of the Lord's servants cast into outer darkness would mean that a Christian can be eternally punished after having become a Christian. That goes against too much of the New Testament.

So the alternative is to hold that the cases of some servants of the Lord being cast into outer darkness must mean a dispensational and temporary punishment. It could not last longer than a thousand years.

The Only Issue

Sin will not be and is not the basis of the Last Judgment; sin won't even be mentioned. Each unbeliever's good deeds and works will be the basis for each indictment. Reason: No matter how many good deeds and works unbelievers perform and accumulate, they all add up to human righteousness. Human righteousness cannot have relationship and fellowship with God's perfect divine righteousness. "For all of us have become like one who is unclean, and all of our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment [in the Hebrew: menstrual rags]." (Isaiah 64:6a) "He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy [grace] by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit". (Titus 3:5) The only way to receive God's righteousness is to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. (I Corinthians 1:30) The Last Judgment is God's time and place for the final verdict on man's futile struggle to reach heaven on his own merit. Visualize God on His Throne; all unbelievers of the human race will stand before this bench of absolute justice. No believers will be present because "there is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." (Romans 8:1)

If you have believed in Christ you are spared the Last Judgment: "He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the only begotten [uniquely born] Son of God." (John 3:18) "He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not believe in the Son shall not see life but the wrath of God abides on him." (John 3:36) The unbeliever's separation from God for all eternity or second death [separation from God and destruction of the well being of body and soul] is described in Revelation 20:15: "And death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire." Since Christ paid the penalty for the sins of the entire world, God the Father's Justice cannot prosecute the human race for personal sin. The only issue is your decision regarding faith alone in Christ alone? Your call.

That 'Death is The King of Terror and The Terror of Kings' appears to be borne out on this forum. Death is no respecter of persons. Death stands at every doorway and cannot be wished or defined away as some nebulous void. An unpopular topic.

You know, I wonder how many people are told they will live to the ripe old age of 92 and then they get hit by a bus later that afternoon?

The next time I tackle people like Grampy Bobby for their fridge-magnetism and bumper-stickerism, people should tackle me for being bushy tailed about the bumper-readiness and fridge-door-readiness of "Death gives life vitality"! 🙂

I must say, Peter Koestenbaum's "The Vitality of Death", a book I read decades ago, has this idea at its core, and it has stuck with me.

Actually, you got it wrong. People who think they are believers - those who cast out demons (!) in Jesus' name and performed many miracles - he says to them, "Depart from me; I never knew you."

Kind of makes you feel a little less secure, doesn't it?

We'd need a wider fridge. Or use smaller letters on the magnet. 😛
