Not trying to change the subject but you mentioned that "the horrid stuff in Revelation doesn't exist anymore" sounds like you are saying that either parts of the bible or all of it is no longer valid or real?
That's fine if you see it that way but just asking who told you that? Was it a preacher at your church or your own opinion or just you giving up on the bible? You have mentioned that you are a Christian, right? So why the distrust in the bible?

Good grief ! The books in your bible were decided by committee, not any divine inspiration. Now you want to act like they are some amazing words of god.

That is not true, the evidence doesn't back that up, but so far the only truth you seem to be really seeking are your own. You ever decided to look outside of your made up mind on that topic let me know.

The books of your bible were chosen based on popularity in various churches.
Heck, Mark, Luke, Matthew and John were made up names. No one even knows who wrote those books.
