    It's not a new Bible. It's a new translation.

Wouldn't it be easier to teach everybody English?

I only use The King James Version.
If it was good enough for Jesus, then it's good enough for me. 😏

The King James is a translation. All the rest of the English Bibles are versions.

No, the rest are translations as well. Many "versions" as you call them went back to earlier documents to translate them.

I am curious, do you actually believe that?

In the preface of one copy of the King James that I saw it quite clearly stated that it was not to be taken as a final accurate translation but that later translations were expected to be better.

No, not at all. Have you tried teaching LOL cats English? Besides, it is not really a translation.

it makes for a nice and funny read. i haven't got to the part about the gruesome laws of the OT but i am curious how does "kill anyone who does illegal stuff" translate into lolspeak.

The KJV is an Anglo-Saxon translation. It's a difficult read because modern English isn't purely Anglo-Saxon as it was then.

My favorite translation is NRSV, translated from Hebrew and Greek.

Some Bibles are paraphrases, not versions, such as the Living Bible.
