    Dive cherry picks his Christianity.

And he cherry picks which portions of the Bible he will believe.

I never use scripture to throw insults, which is what I'm talking about. Josephw loves doing this, it his MO, I think it makes him feel powerful.

Mark 9:43, 48-49 “And if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than with two hands to go to hell, to the unquenchable fire…where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.’ For everyone will be salted with fire.”

What is your interpretation of this verse?

No, I accept every part of the bible as being the word of god. Some parts I disagree with other people's interpretation, other parts I simply refuse to bend my moral compass to accept as being acceptable.

That's hypocritical. I didn't insult you, but you did me.

Jesus taught about hell. Hell exists. Jesus said so, but you say hell doesn't exist. You're making Jesus out to be a liar.

    Try to stay on topic.

You said 'hell' does not exist. So why would Jesus use the word 'hell' if it doesn't exist?

I've never used scripture to insult you.

I don't accept the version of hell that you interpret it to be. Perhaps it's something else. Take your pick.

Perhaps it does but it doesn't involve him watching billions of people being tortured for eternity. Accepting this interpretation is one of the sickest things you can do as a Christian.

A lot of people do that. It's a problem for some. Unfortunately some folks that call themselves Christians fail to understand that God's Word is the final authority, and that it says what it means and means what it says.

You believe 'only' what you want to believe.

    Are you a Christian?

You categorically stated that 'hell' does not exist. If you did in fact have a different interpretation of hell why would you say it doesn't exist?

I never insulted you with the scriptures. You just took it that way. Probably because of a guilty conscience.

The version of hell you describe is unbiblical. You really don't know what I believe on the subject.

Main benefit of being an agnostic:

    1. The countless hours saved staying out of pointless arguments such as those of the last posts above. 😀
