because they are standing on empty ground, making up stories
for weak minds to follow, mainly for the purpose of building a
power base with of course the founder on the top of the crap heap.

I think atheists are in a universal black hole. Do you believe in evolution?

Believing in evolution still leaves a lot of room for the belief in god.

Atheism has nothing to do with evolution. They're two completely different subjects. Not all atheists believe in evolution (although there tends to be a very high correlation), and large number of theists do believe in it.

Why do you assume I am an atheist? My personal position is
if there is a god its a dispicable pathetic caracature giving random
and contradictory rules to a pathetically weak crowd unable to use
the only thing that separates us from animals: our brains.
I cannot deny the horrible prospect of a possiblity there is a god
and I cannot deny the more pleasant idea of the absence of god.
Evolution can happen with or without a god. Suppose the role of a real
god is to just start the ball rolling, maybe he has a machine that
starts the big bang going and made our universe then just sits
back and watches the action from his microscope in the sky, then
whatever evolves, evolves and he has a good laugh at all the
guesswork as to what the real god is, all the contradictory lies
made up in his name. But it could just as easily be a convolution
of forces contrived to cause the big bang and we end up with the
sun, earth, evolution, no god and everything proceeds as it always has
with no god looking down from his microscope in the sky and
we are all simply telling lies and stories. Either way theists are wrong.

Better to say that there is a very high correlation with accepting evolution and being "not a wacky evangelical literalist American xtian."

Sorry, I do not assume anything, I apologize...please read the thread entitled God vs Satan in response to some of your statements.

no apologies needed! If anything, an agnostic gets "pity" from
theists, so vastly uncertain, poor guy. Like I care. One problem
you cannot get around, suppose what you think of as a god is
in fact only a very powerful alien with an attitude problem.
How would you tell the differance? Seems to me just as likely a
possiblity of that then a real god, who I cannot concieve doing the
things you proported god does. An alien with an attitude fits the
MO a lot better. So here is this alien, can make mountains fly,
heal the sick, turn frogs into battleships, whatever. He/she/it comes
down to earth, says I am the true lord and ye that follow me shall
have everlasting life, of course this alien can do no such thing but
it craves attention and likes gathering planets but you don't know
all that. Of course where there is one powerfull alien there could
be others not quite as strong trying to add their own crap to the
mix so Alien #1 convinces us alien #2 is the devil and watch out for
that one, it will cause you to burn in hell forever.....
So if the situation was like that, just how would you in your earthly
brain be able to see through the deception?
Don't just give me, "I would feel it in my heart" kind of crap.
Give me something objective here. How would you know the
differance?

clearly you couldn't. we are assuming here that this alien is so powerfull as to do all this telepathic talking to people and moving planets stuff, yes? then you couldn't.
in fact there is, i think, only one way to tell, ie, that would all be impossible. from what we know of the universe, these things could not be done. one who does them would have to be un-natrual, 'supernatural, so either a god, deamon, sorcerer, etc.
thats the best that can be given here, i think, for the rest is simply what is done with the power..

No, of course not. There is a group (for example) called the Raelians who are atheists (they do not believe in god), but who think the world was created by aliens. I guess this could be considered a form of creationism, but it is an atheistic form. So there are atheists who do not believe in evolution.

I believe the Raelians credit an alien race for the creation of man, not that of the earth in general.

Why limit it to just Earthmen or Earth. Why not the whole shooting
match: the universe. Suppose god created "the" universe but this one
isn't it, just a picture hanging on the gallery of the real universe,
a 5 th dimensional snapshot created by a powerful alien in "The"
universe and woking with the forces available on a multi-dimensional
plane, cooked up our universe. If that were the truth and that truth
be known to men, would you still worship it?

My mistake. I do not claim to be an expert on the Raelians. But that does not invalidate my point.
