Isn't the fact that he was a carpenter and earned a living from carpentry, for example, a "point of comparison" with other craftsmen and other ordinary people making their livelihoods? To me, it seems rather incoherent to BOTH celebrate the fact that he was a real human and THEN cancel all that out by insisting that "there is no point of comparison". OK, fine, i ...[text shortened]... is no point of comparison" with other humans then what is the big deal about him being a human?
Like any man-crush, it is not exactly rational.

So it turns out this "Maybe Jesus was married after all" story was a complete and utter hoax after all, just as I said at the time.

As I said recently when this issue came up in the science forum [yeah, I know]
even if the parchment had been 'genuine' it still didn't do what people claimed it did...

But I'm curious as to what your objection, and reasons for it, were?

I enjoy watching a movie news web show on youtube, and the host on the
show regularly [when relevant] says that he has no problems with characters
being changed [from previous incarnations or source materiel] so long as the
core of the character is kept the same.

So, for example, Edris Elba as James bond would be fine [awesome] because there
is nothing important about the James bond character that is changed if you make
the character black instead of white.

Similarly, I can't actually see anything that fundamentally changes about the Jesus
character if he has a wife.

Though that may be for a lack of imagination on your part. If you're married you should
know that everything changes. For instance, I suspect Jesus would have been more
irritated, generally speaking, with momentary lapses into mad-man-like delirium... on
occasion.

The dude got himself executed for no good reason... How much madder do you want him to be?
