If you add a little energy you can easily 'destroy' water by splitting it into it's constituent elements.

There was a verification of that theory from the H2 explosions in the Japanese nuclear reactor last week. Heat water enough and you get O2 and H2, a potentially explosive mixture.

The second was sand , and it was ...[text shortened]... element, and hence was not likened to anything.
I'll call it "thinking like the bhudda"
Many thanks for your post reg. 4 ways of thinking. It is something new to me.
By the way sand sculptures are always constructed ( is that the right word for such thing as sand?) on beaches in India by roadside artists etc. and are quite common.
Now as regards Water,do you know what Hindu saints, mystic poets, writers call our Life ?
They say that Life is a story written on Water by fingers, disappearing the moment it is written.
    Sad but true !
Incidentally please permit to point out that the correct spelling and pronunciation of Buddha/Buddhism is without any "h" following the "B". B is pronounced as in Book.

And I contest that our thinking should be mostly "like water". Not like sand or stone.

Of course water refers to our emotional, feminine sides in dreams and other mythologies.

    Any ideas?
Lack of "flow"?( Too much left brain activity?)
Very interesting indeed! You may be on to something here. 🙂

Oh that silent "h". Buddhism. There we go. That feels better.
The monks I saw doing those sand drawings were not doing "scultptures", but just lines in the sand.

If only people could chill and think like water 70-80% of their days.

And you may find yourself living in a shotgun shack
And you may find yourself in another part of the world
And you may find yourself behind the wheel of a large automobile
And you may find yourself in a beautiful house, with a beautiful wife
And you may ask yourself-Well...How did I get here?

Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by/water flowing underground
Into the blue again/after the money's gone
Once in a lifetime/water flowing underground.

    And you may ask yourself
    How do I work this?
    And you may ask yourself
    Where is that large automobile?
    And you may tell yourself
This is not my beautiful house!
    And you may tell yourself
This is not my beautiful wife!

    Water dissolving...and water removing
There is water at the bottom of the ocean
Carry the water at the bottom of the ocean
Remove the water at the bottom of the ocean!

Letting the days go by/let the water hold me down
Letting the days go by/water flowing underground
Into the blue again/in the silent water
Under the rocks and stones/there is water underground.

    What is that beautiful house?
    And you may ask yourself
    Where does that highway go?
    And you may ask yourself
    Am I right?...Am I wrong?
    And you may tell yourself
    MY GOD!...WHAT HAVE I DONE?

I think what you may be trying to get at is that water cant be broken like a rock or moved into place like sand.
Whether it be a drop or an ocean, it remains the same thing.

It's not immortal, but how it got here in the first place is just as interesting a question as to how the Earth is such a perfect temperature to hold water...Hmmmm...

Wikipedia says this about this song:

"The verses of the song consist of David Byrne speaking rather than singing. With the lyrics "Letting the days go by, let the water hold me down," the song has an existential mood to it, although it is usually interpreted to be a song dealing with the midlife crisis and the inevitable sacrifice of youthful ideals and dreams for conventional success."
