I spoke accurately for myself with reference to the steadfast faith and loyal heroics of some biblical personages; I do relate to the errors of judgment and disobedient actions of many if not all on occasion. I've messed up too. And still do. Thankfully God has made a provision for restoration of fellowship [1John 1:9]. With respect to robbie, divegeester, Suzianne and anyone else I respect their right to viewpoints of their own. I'm sure robbie is well aware that King Solomon screwed up big time as did his father King David. In Ecclesiastes he concluded that all is vanity from a human point of view. "Upon this pebble I will build my church," refers to Peter's faith in Christ.

According to the interlinear the term is taken from the Greek, petra. On what basis are you saying that its a pebble instead of a rock? For i have found no translation which translates it as such.

The large rock or stone is Jesus Christ and only on this will He build His church. Peter is only a small pebble that is a part of the royal family of God.
