I was always taught that sin separates us from God. Would you agree with this?

I was wondering about the sins of god. I meant God.

Of course sexuality has its place. Sex is a very beautiful thing. God did not create something ugly.

Also, do you think that we live in an era of too little passion?

We literally have youth going impotent from pornography.

Thr overwhelming majority of people must cut their passions, not follow them.

Funny idea about the leg, though. I LOLd.
America bounces back and forth between sexual repression and hedonism. So, most tend to have either too little, or too much, passion.

I don't agree that the overwhelming majority ought to reduce their passion. But I also think porn use of the kind you describe actually reduces passion.

It reduces passion by causing sensory overload and reducing natural desires... That is my guess as to what you mean by reducing passion.

Of course, as I had said before, there are the good passions, the natural passions. God created everything, including lovemaking, and lovemaking is not ugly by any stretch of the imagination. We do not have to pretend that there is something unacceptable about it, and the inclinations that we have to it have their own sort of romance to it. Coupling is beautiful.

However, impure thoughts on coupling is negative.

Would you regard coupling outside of the bounds of marriage to be sinful?

It is permissable for an adult heterosexual couple which has declared in good faith their intention to marry to have sexual intercourse. As in, such a couple will be able to have communion and are not committing mortal sins.

So basically... You can have it with your boyfriend/girlfriend who is your fiancee.

There are some other issues of oikonomia, I am sure, and perhaps it woudl also be true that there are people who should never skate otu of the lines at all...

I can't speak for every Christian but anything that would stray far from the above advice would probably be wrong...

What do you think?

I personally made a decision not to have sexual intercourse before I was married. I think I was saved a lot of heartache by this decision and I don't regret it at all. I do not judge people that believe differently but I would be interested in doing an in depth study as to what they Bible says about the issue.

How do you interpret 2 Timothy 2:22?

New International Version (NIV)
22 Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Oh yeah, you are right, and you should absolutely wait until marriage but it is one of those things where if an intention to marry is declared there is some amount of leeway.

But yeah, what you have said is the only advice that I will give to my kids.

I don't think thoughts are negative. It's what you do with them that's positive or negative.

I wager that many couples have lots of impure thoughts about each other before they finally get together.
