I'm sure Neville Chamberlain thought this too.

Fulfilled prophecies. Eyewitness testimony.
Behavior of the disciples.

How many fulfilled prophecies are in the Koran and Vedas?
You tell me? Have you looked into it? Are prophecies even a determining factor for religious truth?

I disagree. Christians peering at the world through their gloomy, impotent prisms are ten a penny.
Christians see the world through the lens of scripture. The scriptures have never failed to predict the future for both nations and individuals alike that fail to heed the warnings for failure to obey God's Word.

Your hope in the endeavors of man to govern himself are proven to be impotent by the record of human history alone, much less the accuracy of biblical prophecy.

False prophets are a dime a dozen.

Thanks for the Jeremiah quote.

Jeremiah this, Jeremiah that. You are offering me nothing about economic and social development and the trends towards better governance in many parts of the world.
Take a broader look. We're sitting on the ash heap of man's efforts to create economic and social development and better governance since time began.

But you can't see it because you're looking at the world through the lens of humanism and the illusion of evolution.

Whose "company" do you claim to be in when it comes to taking a look at the human condition in countries like Indonesia at this stage of their development?[/b]
Not yours.

I believe I am taking a broader look ~ while you are - rather comically, to my way of thinking - wittering on about ancient Hebrew mythology.

Fail to learn the lesson of history and you're doomed to repeat it.

Man doesn't have the power to fix himself. Man is the problem. All you're doing is echoing the same old self righteous and man made solutions to a chronic condition that has plagued mankind since the beginning.

The Hebrew mythological God's company.

What do you offer instead? Gloom. Fatalism. Impotence. Superstition. Maybe that cocktail has the power to fix the world's problems, although I don't see it myself.

Oh well, you tried to come up with something trite, again. Didn't seem to work though.

They are a huge factor. I've heard that as much as 30% of biblical prophecy has been fulfilled.

Prophecy is a major component of the Bible that sets it aside from all other religions and their so-called scriptures.
